🚀 Doing Education Differently

Global Ecosystem, Local Learners…

The education system isn’t broken, it’s doing exactly what it was designed to do. But the world has changed – so how do we change an encumbent system that is no longer fit for purpose? We are co-designing and co-creating a global network of Learning Hubs and a ‘curriculum’ with a difference, for learners who want to be better prepared to thrive – not just survive – in a world of accelerating change and possibility.

The Challenge

The System Isn’t Broken. It Was Never Built For Us…

Standardised timetables, one-size-fits-all curricula, age-based learning and endless testing…while top-down directives keep promising “21st-century learning.” Meanwhile, young people step into the workplaces of today and discover they are woefully unprepared and under-skilled to navigate and survive them – never mind thrive. We’re building a learning ecosystem with a difference…

🌍 A Different Learning Ecosystem

The Core Learning Hub Concept

We’re building a global network of learning hubs to bridge the gap between self-directed, skilled young people and the kinds of workplaces where they can thrive and create an impact.

Each learning hub is co-designed, set up and run by the individual local community, supported by our core team and a global network of other hubs to share with, learn from and co-create together.

Local Hubs, Global Backbone

Each hub grows out of its own community. We can provide the main infrastructure – core values, guardrails and shared tools & systems – plus a core team to support you, then we get out of the way until you need us again.

Self-Directed & Project-Based

Learners design their own pathway, then execute real projects they care about. Think “build the thing, show the thing, iterate” – not “write about building the thing in a workbook.”. Their projects can be as short or as long as they want.

Facilitation, Not Teaching

Adults (and other young people!) are facilitators, mentors, networkers, provocateurs and inspiration. Their job is to prompt for questions, inspire curiosity, model lifelong learning and unblock access to resources.

Community-Driven Governance

Young people, parents, facilitators and partners share decision-making. If it impacts the learners, they get a vote. Each hub operates independently, managed by Hub leaders, supported by the core Mission Equality team, as needed.

Strong Community Links

Every hub builds alliances with companies, social enterprises and civic organisations in the community, creating its own mini ecosystem. Building pathways into the world of work for learners, work isn’t an abstract future – it’s the present.

Our Learning Journeys For Young People

Six interconnected learning experiences designed for young people who want to shape the world rather than just survive it. Build systems literacy, AI fluency, ethical income design, and the confidence to redesign broken systems.

Learning Journey Details

1. How the World Works

A systems thinking deep-dive. Learners unpack the design of current systems – education, justice, economy, health – and examine who they serve, who they don’t and why.

→ Mapped Competencies: Achieving Equality, Change Management, Visionary Thinking

2. Know Yourself

Deep internal work. Learners map their identity, values, triggers and patterns—so they can act from clarity, not reaction. Emotional regulation & personal responsibility are centre stage.

→ Mapped Competencies: Emotional Management, Leadership, Communication

3. Intro to AI

What is artificial intelligence, who’s driving it and who does it serve? This journey explores how AI works, who trains it, and how it’s reinforcing – or challenging -oppression.

→ Mapped Competencies: Communication, Achieving Equality, Visionary Thinking

4. Build a Better System

Using design thinking and team-based collaboration, learners prototype entirely new systems – education without exams, healthcare without gatekeeping, justice without punishment.

→ Mapped Competencies: Leadership, Visionary Thinking, Achieving Equality

5. Make Money Ethically

Redesign income from the ground up.

Learners build ethical, sustainable micro-businesses around their skills, values and impact goals.

→ Mapped Competencies: Leadership, Change Management, Communication

6. Design Your Life

This journey weaves all the others together. Learners develop a personal vision, life design model and future pathway aligned with who they really are – and what the world needs.

→ Mapped Competencies: Visionary Thinking, Emotional Management, Change Mgt
